Camp Albemarle: A Unique Community Resource

Lassy Chester

Art Director

“The camp has everything you could need for a week together in nature; we floated down the river, went on a nature walk and chased frogs and butterflies. We're already looking forward to next year!”

A. Reed & M. Walden

The Gaia Gathering

“Camp Albemarle provides a beautiful & versatile setting for community events. We value the access to nature, well tended facilities and truly unique outdoor spaces.”

David Oxford

SCA

“The Camp is gorgeous and gives the comfy, cozy ambiance that makes our event attendees eager to come back year after year.”

Ben Bunnell

Coalition Theater, Richmond

“Every October, we rent Camp Albemarle for a weekend of kickball, board games, cooking, bonfires, crafts, music, & just hanging out. It's a beloved tradition at the theater, & helps us renew our connections as friends & co-performers in the beauty of the Albemarle forests.”

Educational Opportunities in the Wild

We all have stories of memorable field trips as a kid. Schools not only have used Camp Albemarle to teach their students about watersheds but they have also used it to host faculty retreats.

Community Opportunities in the Wild

Community organizations have used the campgrounds for many years. Past events include 4-H camps, reunions, weddings and church groups.

Business Opportunities in the Wild

Sometimes it is good to step away from the work. Local employers realize this and have used the campsite to host retreats, leadership development and off-site plannings.
